Who Qualifies as an Author
Authorship requires a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work; or acquisition, analysis or interpretation of data; participation in drafting or critical revision; approval of the final version; and accountability for the work. People who provide only routine supervision, funding, editing or administrative assistance should be acknowledged rather than listed as authors.
Author Order and Changes
All authors must approve the order before submission. A request to add, remove or reorder authors must explain the reason and include written consent from every affected author. The journal may contact institutions when a dispute cannot be resolved.
Corresponding Author
The corresponding author ensures that the submission is complete, all authors are informed, declarations are accurate and post-publication questions are answered. Correspondence status does not imply greater ownership of the work.
