Conflict of Interest Policy

Disclosure requirements for authors, reviewers and editors.

Conflict-of-Interest Policy

Authors, reviewers and editors must disclose relationships or circumstances that could reasonably be perceived to influence their judgment. These may be financial, professional, academic, institutional, personal, ideological or competitive.

Authors

Disclose funding sources, employment, consultancy, patents, paid testimony, personal relationships and relevant institutional interests. A declaration should appear in the manuscript even when there is no conflict.

Reviewers and Editors

Decline or transfer an assignment when a conflict could affect impartiality. Editors should arrange independent handling for their own work or work from close colleagues and institutions.

A disclosed interest does not automatically prevent publication; nondisclosure may require correction or further action.
